The Collection

Listed below are some details about the JML's holdings. We are always acquiring new material so be sure to check our latest acquisitions page every so often for details on new additions to the collection.

Videos / DVDs

Over 1200 titles are available, covering all genres. New titles are added as they become available.

Posters

There's no need to blow your budget on posters to smarten up your home when you can borrow posters from the JML and change the decor of your room as often as you like.

Music

The JML's music collection currently includes over 1,100 CD's with more than enough variety to suit all tastes, covering genres such as heavy metal, alternative, jazz/blues, comedy and classical music. New releases are added continuously. The JML also has several thousand LPs, a collection that includes jazz/blues, vintage pop, musicals, comedy, and more. The classical LPs alone amount to approximately 1500 titles.

Printed Matter

Science Fiction / Fiction / Romance

There are thousands of books, new publications and bestsellers as well as old favourites. These collections are among the most popular and are regularly updated.

Non-Fiction

The collection consists of books not found on the shelves of your average lending library. Esoterica, the occult, astrology, philosophy, popular science, cooking, are among the topics covered. Lonely Planet travel guides and maps are also available. Travel guides (Lonely Planet) are also available for borrowing. (Two for one week) The Reference/Special Collection (large pictorials and folios on most subjects, particularly arts and history is now incorporated in Non Fiction and are available for one-week loan.

Careers and Employment

A range of Careers and Employment reference books on resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search manuals, faculty handbooks etc. are housed in the JML.

Foreign Language Collection

Introduced in 1999, the collection at this stage comprises approx. 500 fiction books in Chinese and Indonesian, as well as periodicals in Chinese. New books will be added during the year and your input is most welcome.

We also have comics in Chinese. Our sincere thanks to a grateful JML user who donated a large number of comics to us.
